CURRENT NEWS – July 2019 Hi Cutters, Here we are in the dog days of summer with thoughts of fall being just a few months away. Our 2019-2020 season is looking to be one you won’t want to miss. The CCCHA board has been working hard on providing a fun and friendly, yet professional experience for cutters of all levels. Our members and cutters around the state spoke and we listened. We’ve moved our shows to a more central location; Arizona Horse Lovers Park (on Tatum south of the 101). We are not strangers to Arizona Horse Lovers Park, as we did have our shows there for many years. Their cutting pen is undergoing a little renovation including new ground/footing. We are working closely with the staff at HLP to make sure the ground is at its best for our humans, horses and sport. By the way, that same HLP staff have recently been to Texas to attend a seminar on “competition footing management” with Kiser, so expect optimal arena conditions. This year not only do we have a change in venue but, in an attempt to provide consistently fresh cattle, we have a change in our cattle supplier as well. CCCHA is starting off the season bigtime by offering a half day cutting clinic. A huge thank you to our sponsors Al Dunning Training Stables and Jade Keller Performance Horses. Al and Jade will share their expertise in the cutting pen, helping us hone our skills and be our best for the season. Our first show will follow the cutting clinic. Speaking of the first show. Be sure to visit our “Show Info” page here on our website as we’ve added a couple new classes and a few of our existing classes have reduced entry fees. The two new classes are $5000 Amateur and Beginner Cutter. With the Beginner Cutter class, we are looking forward to meeting some new riders who want to give cutting a try. In the Beginner Cutter class, the rider cannot have earned more than $500 in cutting. You can ride any horse and can ride one or two handed. The rules for this class are similar to our Ranch Class. Also, you may show more than one horse in our Boxing Class. Rules for the Ranch Class and Boxing Class will be posted soon, so check back for that info. CCCHA is a not for profit club and we are happy to have the following sponsors on board this season: Al Dunning Training Stables, Jade Keller Performance Horses, Outback Cutting, and Rock Relief. Please support these businesses whenever possible. If you’d like info on becoming a sponsor, please check our “Sponsor” page on our website or contact any board member. Have a safe and fun summer, see you in November!!! Get a grip, let loose and hang on!
HOWDY, CUTTERS! The CCCHA aims to provide a quality show experience at an affordable cost to all cutters, young or old, experienced or novice, trainers or amateurs. Enjoy a great venue with expertly managed ground, fresh cattle and great atmosphere. We offer classes at all levels with a supportive environment to help everyone advance to the next level.
